Our Mission & Aims
Our mission is to broaden perceptions of what music is for, where it should be performed and who gets to play it.
We believe music making should be available and accessible for everyone, and through our programmes of work we aim to challenge systems which prevent people from making music, learning an instrument or discovering their own creativity.
We aim to raise the profile of street band music in Scotland and across the UK - an exciting access route into music and a powerful art form.
Our approach centres on restoring a sense of playfulness and curiosity in music making, celebrating the enjoyment, self-expression and connection to others that playing music offers.
We strive to be excellent hosts. Everyone is welcome! Our aim is that everyone who encounters Oi Musica - whether participant, staff, partner or audience member - leaves with a feeling of wanting to return.
