We currently work with 80 young people across three different groups in East Edinburgh which all take place on a Tuesday after school during term time:
BRASS BLAST BEGINNERS @ BRUNSTANE PRIMARY 3.15 – 4pm (106 Magdalene Drive, EH15 3BE)
– a fun introduction to trumpet & trombone for P5s, 6s & 7s at Brunstane Primary.
*Currently held at Porty High School while renovations at Beunstane continue. 3.15 - 4.15pm.
BRASS BLAST GROUP 1 @ EDINBURGH COLLEGE 4.30 – 5.30pm (24 Milton Road East, EH15 2PP)
– for S1 and younger. For those who have been playing a brass instrument / drums for a short while.
BRASS BLAST GROUP 2 @ EDINBURGH COLLEGE 6.45- 8pm (24 Milton Road East, EH15 2PP)
– for S2 and over. This group is for those with 2+ years experience on their instrument, who are taking lessons either at school or privately, and who want to push themselves and advance as musicians and members of a band. The group are also exploring areas of youth leadership, composition, transcribing music and more in the coming weeks & months.
Sessions at Edinburgh College cost £12.50 per week. Reduced cost and fully funded places are available – we will never turn a young person away for financial (or any other) reasons.
We are also running a programme of optional Creative Sessions every Tuesday from 5.45-6.30pm for curent BB players. Programme chosen and designed by young people. 3 rooms running simultaneously. Develop creative skills or follow a particular interest with your instrument. Decide on the day - no need to commit in advance.
If you are interested in joining Brass Blast, you can sign up below and we’ll be in touch to let you know when a place may become available (there is currently a waiting list).
